Once I had drawn up a basic character model for Chester, I wanted to see how far I could push it. I picture Chester’s character as limber and expressive, and I think his model lends itself well to that. I wanted his floppy sleeves to be particularly dynamic, but the concept could still be pushed further.
You also may notice that Chester is wearing his aviation goggles in these illustrations. These were early concepts, so there are still some inconsistencies in his hair, facial features, etc. I still plan to do away with the goggles, but the point of this exercise was simply to get Chester moving.
